  1. Doing Exercise

Exercise has always been a good way of keeping our body healthy. Exercise or physical activities produce endorphins –chemicals in the brain that are natural pain killers and help us give a good sleep which in turn reduces stress.

Daily one or two hours exercise can be a good way to remain healthy and cope with stress.

Exercise can be of any form like walking, jogging, running, gymnastics, cycling, skipping etc. If you don’t spend time on yourself today, you are going to suffer tomorrow.

One more positive effect of exercising daily is that you get a feel good factor because you feel fresh due to removal of toxins due to sweating during exercising and you feel physically fit.

So decide today that you are going to start some exercise without any excuse and give a step towards leading a stress free life.

2. Taking Rest

Taking rest is equally as important as doing exercise. After a hard day of work, your body and brain need rest to rejuvenate. So no matter what, take rest every day. Rest can be of any form like simply lying on bed, or giving you some massage, taking a good night’s sleep. Taking a peaceful sleep for 8 hours daily can help you lead a better and stress free life.

Adequate sleep is a key part of a healthy life style.

Sleep also has many amazing benefits on body and mind.

So go ahead, get a good sleep. But question arises when we can’t sleep even if we try so much. Well, in that case try steps like drinking a lot of water, taking a bath, listening to sleeping sounds, calming your mind etc. Keep your mobile, TV, laptop away before sleeping because they take away your sleep and their radiations have ill effects on your body and mind. If such methods don’t work then go visit a doctor.

3. Good eating

Eating healthy food has amazing benefits on your body.

Eating habits have changed in today’s dynamic life style. Youngsters prefer junk food to fill up the stomach fast. They try skipping breakfast, lunch or dinner and go for eating junk foods. But this has a very bad effect on their digestive system and body.

We should have a well-balanced diet. Our daily food should contain proteins, vitamins, fats, and starch in proportion. Eating seasonal fruits is always healthy.

Also eating good food or fruits help in proper digestion and also reduces stress on stomach and liver.

So finally when you eat good food, you have a healthy body and your body automatically fights stress.

One more thing to add, eating chocolate can help reduce stress. Chocolates contain caffeine which is a stimulant and hence a stress booster. So eating a chocolate in stressful situations will help you fight stress.

4. Loving

Love is a natural phenomenon and is a God gift to all human beings. Love is a natural bond that binds two beings without expecting too much and makes them happy.

Love naturally reduces stress by releasing some chemicals in the body.

Love can be of any type like parents to their children, brothers and sisters, lovers, husband and wife, friends, teacher and student, man and pet etc. Researches have shown that love can reduce stress and hence increase longevity.

Start taking out time to love your friends, family members, spouse etc.

Giving love brings back love and hence give and take makes this world a better place to live.

If you don’t love someone, then go love somebody. Live in the world of love and peace. Mak e the world a better place.

5. Meditation

Meditation is natural mind healing medicine. It helps in increasing concentration, calms your mind and helps you to in fighting stress.

Meditation has been an age old ancient practice used by saints to achieve calmness and higher state of mind. Meditation should be done at relaxed state of mind at a silent place away from disturbance. There are many techniques of meditation out of which focusing on breath is commonly practiced.  

In this technique the person sits upright relaxed in a calm environment. He takes long breaths and focuses on it and avoids thoughts in mind.  It’s very difficult to focus on our breath initially because there is a continuous flow of thoughts in our mind and we lose our concentration. But the more we try to focus the more we gain control and slowly we improve ourselves. Continuous practice helps you get better control and focus on your mind. Try getting into a deeper state of meditation. You will find a drastic change in yourself.

Prayer can also be considered as a form of meditation wherein we are relaxed and we focus our attention on God. We gain positive energy and feel stress free.

Try and meditate!! it’s a very good stress booster. Meditation -A Medicine to mind helps you focus more on your work and improves your capacity.

6. Positive Thinking

Positive thinking is very important phenomenon that when practiced on a regular basis can change our life.  It is said that our thoughts make our habits and habits make our persona.

We become what we think. So practice positive thinking.

To be a positive thinker, self-inspiration is the best.  So try to inspire yourself. Other things are just for time being. Try watching motivational videos, listening to motivating speakers, reading good books etc.

Positive thinking brings in you self-confidence and boosts your morale. And as the theory of attraction says we attract what we think.  So good attracts good. It reduces stress on your body by releasing good chemicals in your body when you think positive.

Also surround yourself with optimistic people. It will help you maintain positive energy. Sometimes in life we are surrounded by negative people or negative thoughts, in such cases try to avoid such thoughts and people and get into the vicinity of positive people. This will help you a lot to fight stress.

7. Listening to Music/Dancing

As we all know everything in the world has got some rhythm. Our heart is a good example. Our heart beats in rhythm and it is just like a natural music.

Music is everywhere around in the nature. It is a good form of stress relief.  Listen to the music according to your mood and it helps you reduce stress. Even listening to sad music or songs help you reduce your stress to some level.

Every living being on the earth is attached to music naturally. Hence it’s natural that we all love music.

When you listen to some good music you feel rejuvenated and feel like dancing. So without giving a second thought, move your butt and start dancing. Dancing in any form helps you have 2 benefits i.e. Exercise along with enjoyment of music.  Join some programs like Zumba or dance classes. It helps you maintain your energy whole day and reduce stress.

Start enjoying music and dance.

8. Keeping pets-man animal relationship

For many pet owners, having a dog or cat fills their lives with companionship and affection. But having a pet may do much more. Nowadays pet prescription is given to patients to fight stress.

Research has shown that when pet owners are asked to perform a stressful task, they show less stress in the company of their pets than in the company of a friend.

Other studies have found that owning a pet relieves depression, blood pressure, and improves exercise habits, all of which can lower the risk of heart attacks.

Human-animal bond studies reveal that there are many social, psychological, and physiological benefits.

Keeping pets moreover help you raise your self-esteem and confidence. They tell you indirectly that they are with you no matter how your persona is.

The love between you and your pet reduces stress on daily basis. You feel like someone is always there with you. You sense happiness when they touch you or caress you. Your bond gets stronger day by day.

So buy yourself a nice pet and reduce the stress in your life.

9. Going on Tours/Adventures

Tours and adventures of new places are as exciting as the name. Travelling and discovering new places makes you mind and soul rejunevate and forget your worries. They are a great stress booster.

There are various types of travels. People like trekking, jungle safaris, climbing mountains, spending time on beaches. The wonderful journeys you carry out, makes you fill with new knowledge, you meet new people, you face new weather. The thrilling nature touch fills you with full of energy. It’s just like God touching you.

Journeys either lonely or with friends or families can be exciting. In both ways,  you spend quality time with nature , it calms you down boosting your energy and relieving your stress.

Feel the nature by discovering forests, mountains, seas, oceans to give a break to your stressed life. Enjoy the trips on trains, horses, four wheelers, two wheelers, ships etc., they give you different feels like railways give you sound of steel wheel swishing on steel rail beneath you etc.

10. Engaging yourself in passionate work

As we say do what you love. If you are doing what you love and passionate about it, you’ll never get stressed in your job.

Passion can be of anything like writing a book /novel/article, singing, dancing, teaching, travelling, photography, inventing, painting gardening, reading etc.

Select a job what you love and you will get stress free. You may not the money you want, but at least it shall make your job happy.

Else create interest in your job, start enjoying your job and you’ll become stress free.

Always take time for your passion in your busy life, engage yourself and see how it makes the difference.

11. Be bold in taking decisions

It’s always stressful taking decisions in terms of money matters, family disputes, career choices, choosing partners etc.

You have to manage, be bold and take decisions.

To go to a decision, work out with all the possible solutions and which solution best suits you. Always keep plan B ready in case plan A fails. Risk management should also be learnt.

You have to gain courage and take bold decisions in case of family disputes.

Try to find solutions if relationships are not working well like changing your attitude, having empathy, giving the person what you want or giving space to the person. Giving break for some days also gives time for recovery of relationships.

Taking guidance of seniors, consultants, parents etc. may help you in taking decisions.

 So be bold and take decisions. This will relieve your stress.
